After ESPN fired Curt Schilling for basically stating that men and women are different and that if you have a penis you should use the men’s room, it got me to thinking about what ESPN has become. Once, the place to go for all things sports, the network is now a liberal cesspool.

“Agree With Our Agenda or Get Out” should be the channel’s slogan. Everyone is wonderful and accepted at ESPN, unless of course you are a conservative unafraid to voice your traditional views.

While Schilling got the ax after giving his take on grown men peeing alongside little girls (months earlier he caught flack from his now former employer for comparing Islamic extremists to Nazis) others at ESPN are just hunky dory with management despite waxing poetic about vehicular assault and even laughing about violent sexual attacks on Sarah Palin. Schilling echoed the views of the vast majority of Americans and was let go, while others offered repulsive commentary, or sat back and laughed at such fodder, and are still in good standing with ever-decaying ESPN.

How could this be? Well, it’s actually very simple. The three examples all targeted former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin while Schilling’s comments named no specific person whatsoever. So, Palin—a daughter. mother, wife, and patriot—is free game, but hypothetical men are completely out of bounds.

Longtime ESPN anchor and personality Kenny Mayne took his cheap shot at Palin via Twitter. Mayne tweeted: “almost rammed car with palin bumper sticker. with intent..held up..coulda been kids in car.” Mayne is known for his tongue in cheek style and dry humor. Want to give him a pass on this one and chalk it up to comedy? Fair. But, why should Schilling be dismissed?

While Mayne’s words may be up for debate, those of some others are indefensible. But, ESPN let it go in a way that would make Elsa of their parent company Disney smile from ear to ear.

Former NBA star Charles Barkley thought he was cute by speaking about the only woman ever to appear on a Republican national ticket like this: “You know I have a thing for Sarah Palin, I do. I think she’s hot! I wouldn’t vote for her, but she is hot now. I’m talking both. I’ve always said, ‘I’ve got a crush on Sarah Palin.’ I would never vote for her. I always vote Democratic because I think you have a better chance of helping poor people if you vote Democratic. But I’ve always had a thing for Sarah Palin. ”

The context for the faux compliments involved Barkley giving credence to a cruel rumor about a twentysomething Palin’s social life spread by sensationalistic biographer Joe McGinniss.

The Round Mound of Rebound added: “You know she just moved in my neighborhood and I haven’t had a chance to meet her. I stay in Philadelphia in the summer, and I go back to Arizona when it starts getting cold. That cold is creeping up on me. I’m talking 50 or 60 degrees. So, I’m heading back to Arizona soon and I look forward to meeting Sarah Palin.”

Big-mouth Barkley makes these comments prompted by false rumors. Nothing happens to him or the ESPN radio hosts that had him on the air.

Then you have Mike Tyson. The former heavyweight champion of the world known more nowadays for his tattooed face and repulsive mouth basically encouraged sexual violence against Palin while speaking on ESPN Radio’s Las Vegas affiliate. “You want her to be with somebody like (Dennis) Rodman getting up … in there,” Tyson said talking about Palin on KWWN. “Pushing her guts up in the back of her head!”

The wordsmith continued: “You want someone like Rodman — yeah baby! Let’s get that donkey in here now. Just imagine Palin with a big old black stallion ripping. Yee-haw!”

After spewing more filth, Tyson put a disgusting bow on things by saying Palin met the “womb shifter.”

Now as bad as this is, we’ve unfortunately grown to expect this trash from Tyson, where ESPN really dropped the ball is with the men who were interviewing him. While the convicted rapist Tyson promoted sexual assault, the ESPN hosts he was talking to giggled like awkward teenagers hopped up on Mountain Dew and Kit Kat bars. All of it was just peachy with ESPN. No repercussion. Certainly no loss of livelihood. So, the network saw nothing wrong with any of this yet cracked down on Schilling this month for speaking the truth.

Those are the lowlights. ESPN promotes inappropriate, misogynist speech but cracks down on conservatives who aren’t willing to sell their soul for the chance to be in front of the camera or behind the mic. Violence, creepiness, and even rape is met with chuckles and belly laughs. But don’t you dare suggest men should do their business in the men’s room. Nothing new, but still quite sad from the worldwide leader in liberal hypocrisy.
