Joseph “Joey Salads” Saladino, the YouTube star and New York Congressional candidate sat down for an exclusive interview with Breitbart News in which he discussed how Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s radical left-wing ideology has placed the Democrats beyond parody.

Saladino, also known by his stage name “Joey Salads,” is running as a congressional candidate NY-11, a formerly Republican district that went Democrat in 2018. The Republican primary in NY-11 will take place on June 23 this year.

Saladino, who accumulated over two million subscribers on YouTube through viral pranks, said that before the rise of AOC, he had an idea for a political prank.

“We’d get a Democrat candidate who knows nothing about anything, just an absolute idiot, who says the most far-left things, and get them elected,” he said.

His idea was to test the left’s reactions to a Democrat candidate “purposefully say[ing] crazy ridiculous things.”

“I was talking to investors and getting the whole thing done,” said Saladino. But then, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came “out of nowhere… and I’m like, somebody took my idea!”

The reality of the crazy ex-bartender from the Bronx made his planned parody redundant, said Saladino.

Back in July of this year, Saladino revealed that he was suing Cortez for blocking him on Twitter,  in response to a judge ruling that President Trump was not allowed to block anyone on the platform.

“I have officially filed my lawsuit against AOC for blocking me on Twitter,” said Saladino. “Trump is not allowed to block people, will the standards apply equally? Stay tuned to find out!”

He said in a video on his channel that he filed the lawsuit to find out if “the standards apply equally.”
