In Katie Connolly’s article “Fake ACORN Pimp Arrested in Attempt to Bug Senate Office” of January 26th, 2010, Mrs. Connolly twice referred to an attempt to “bug” Sen. Landrieu by James O’Keefe and three other conservative activists in New Orleans. Aside from the reference to an “attempt to bug” in the headline, Connolly furthers the meme here:

It’s unclear what the bugging was intended to prove, or why Mary Landrieu was the target.

There are no allegations of any attempt to “bug” or wiretap Sen. Landrieu in the FBI affidavit, and a law enforcement official has conceded that the four men were not attempting to wiretap or intercept calls. Furthermore, legal representation for the accused has gone on record stating there were no intentions to wiretap.
