Dorito Fans Blast NARAL Abortion Bullies: Human Fetus Not a ‘Lobster’

After the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) sent out a series of angry tweets during the Super Bowl, attacking with special animus a Doritos commercial for “humanizing the fetus,” the abortion group received a taste of its own medicine as a flurry of tweets on the group’s own account taunted NARAL while defending Frito-Lay.

The offending Doritos ad in question featured a pregnant woman and her husband in a hospital room as a kindly female doctor conducts an ultrasound. The trouble starts when the doctor smiles and says: “And there’s your beautiful baby,” forgetting that the NARAL-approved language is “fetus” and not “baby.”

The commercial proceeds to show the baby in the ultrasound reacting to the movement of a Doritos chip by moving its body in response to movement of the chip. The mother finally throws the chip away, at which point the baby exits the womb in pursuit as everybody shrieks.

All of this was too much for NARAL to take, and the group sent out an irate tweet accusing Frito-Lay of employing an “antichoice” tactic of “humanizing fetuses.”

Twitter users, however, went on the warpath, mocking the abortion activists by asking what sort of fetus the ultrasound was showing, if not a human. “What is mom pregnant with?” ran one tweet. “A potato? A duck? Nope—a human. Say it with me. She’s a baby”

Another chided NARAL is similar fashion, tweeting “Humanizing? Is it a lobster?”

Other Doritos fans responded with tweets of their own babies as a further spoof on the ad, while some chose to send screenshots of the dictionary definition of fetus as “an unborn offspring of a mammal, in particular an unborn human baby more than eight weeks after conception.”

NARAL’s real beef over the ad was probably the simple fact of viewing an ultrasound, the abortion industry’s worst enemy. Since 78% of women who see an ultrasound of their babies elect not to abort, abortion providers scrupulously prevent women from seeing them. Despite the rhetoric of “choice” and “information,” the abortionists greatest weapon is keeping women ignorant about what is going on inside them.

As one former abortionist, Dr. Joseph Randall, testified concerning women entering the clinic: “They are never allowed to look at the ultrasound because we knew that if they so much as heard the heartbeat, they wouldn’t want to have an abortion.”

Now that would be something worth tweeting.
