Dem Rep Yarmuth: There’s an ‘Almost Ironclad’ Obstruction Case Against Trump That ‘Would Warrant Impeachment’

In a Saturday appearance on MSNBC, Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY) weighed in on the report that President Donald Trump tried to fire Robert Mueller, the special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation, saying there is an “almost ironclad” obstruction of justice case that “warrant” the president’s impeachment.

“I certainly think it makes the case for obstruction of justice almost ironclad,” Yarmuth stated. “What this manifests is the intent that is necessary for a criminal obstruction of justice charge. I don’t think there’s much doubt now that the president was guilty of obstruction of justice, and, certainly, that would warrant impeachment.”

Yarmuth went on to say that Democrats will not push for impeachment this year due to a GOP Congress.

“I don’t think we’re going anywhere, but clearly the order to fire the special counsel is evidence of obstruction of justice,” he added.
