These Christmas wishes were authored and provided to Breitbart Texas by Texas Land Commissioner-elect George P. Bush.

Amanda, Prescott, and I want to take this moment to wish you and yours Happy Holidays. This is a special time of year where families across our great nation and the world come together to celebrate. My family and I will be together in our new home in Austin. But even as we gather around our Christmas tree to rejoice and celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, my family and I want to encourage everyone to take a moment to consider those who are serving our nation and are not able to make it home to be with their loved ones.

As a veteran who served overseas in Afghanistan, I can attest that the gifts, cards and other gifts sent by Americans were a valued reminder of the season. As the New Year approaches, I would encourage everyone to consider making a resolution to support one of the wonderful non-profits that help veterans, active duty military members, reservists, and the families who support them all.

We are a nation with many blessings. Take a moment to count your own blessings and then consider what you might do to help others enjoy the bounty our Lord has provided.

God Bless you, your family, and the great state of Texas.

Sincerely,

George P. Bush, Commissioner-elect
Texas General Land Office
