UPDATE: News9.com in Oklahoma has reported that an Oklahoma judge has found that there is enough evidence to proceed in a criminal trial against Nolen. Prosecutor’s presented evidence, including testimony from co-workers. Nolen was reported to have kept his head down during this testimony.

The Oklahoma Muslim who has been accused of beheading a co-worker is facing a judge today.

The preliminary hearing is underway, as reported by Oklahoma’s News9 at 9:52 a.m. CST.

The defendant, Alton Nolen of Moore, Oklahoma, has been charged with murdering Colleen Hufford on September 25, 2014, as reported by Breitbart Texas. Breitbart Texas was on the ground in Oklahoma shortly after the murder. A second worker at the Vaughan Foods processing plant was also injured.

Nolen has entered a plea of not guilty.

In October, Nolen requested a new attorney be appointed for his defense, a Muslim attorney, News9 in Oklahoma reported.

Prosecutors will be presenting evidence supporting probable cause that Nolen committed the crime.

After covering the beheading in Oklahoma after it happened, Breitbart Texas’ Bob Price appeared on the Kelly File to discuss the conversation he had with the mother of Nolen, as reported by Breitbart Texas.

Price reminded Kelly’s audience that Nolen went to prison for beating an Oklahoma Trooper before he converted to Islam. Mrs. Nolen confirmed during her interview with Price that it was her son who was involved in the brutal attack.

“It’s interesting to note,” Price said, “the son that she raised actually went to prison for beating an Oklahoma trooper before converting to Islam. He is not the innocent little boy that she is trying to portray.” Fox News then showed a clip of a video interview with the beaten trooper.

Nolen was stopped from attacking others in the office when the company’s owner, Mark Vaughn, pulled a rifle out of his car and shot Nolen, Breitbart’s AWR Hawkins reported. Vaughn also serves as a reserve deputy in the local sheriff’s office.
