Former weather presenter Fred Talbot has been found guilty of indecently assaulting two teenage boys at a school where he taught before finding fame.

The 65-year-old was cleared of eight other charges of indecent assault at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester.

Sky News reports that Talbot showed little emotion as the verdicts were read out.

Talbot achieved fame for his forecasts on ITV’s This Morning show, which he presented while standing on a floating map of Britain in Liverpool’s Albert Dock.

He was described in court as a “chancer” who was “obsessed” with teenage boys and “could not help himself” when he was around them after drinking.

He was cleared of assaulting three other boys.

He is due to be sentenced on 13 March.
