The same day that California Governor Jerry Brown signed childhood vaccine bill SB 277 into law, two-time Golden Globe Award winning comedic actor Jim Carrey took to Twitter blasting the governor for not killing the bill that makes California among three states with the strictest vaccine laws in the country.
In the days leading up to Brown signing the bill, Carrey tweeted:
Greed trumps reason again as Gov Brown moves closer to signing vaccine law in Cali. Sorry kids. It’s just business. ;^[

His first Tweet following Brown’s action:
California Gov says yes to poisoning more children with mercury and aluminum in manditory vaccines. This corporate fascist must be stopped.

He also attacked the Centers for Disease Control (CDC):
The CDC can’t solve a problem they helped start. It’s too risky to admit they have been wrong about mercury/thimerasol. They are corrupt.

Carrey clarified his vaccine stance while referencing a documentary on vaccines that was cited in the course of opposition to SB 277:
I am PRO-VACCINE/ANTI-NEUROTOXIN, Get that straight. http://t.co/gbh58Unyvo

I repeat! I AM PRO-VACCINE/ANTI-NEUROTOXIN, as is Robert Kennedy Jr. Please read the following article and book http://t.co/GTr9lReaXO

Carrey then focused on posting photos of pained looking children along with vaccine commentary:

Actress Jenna Elfman spoke with Breitbart News during a protest outside the 2015 California Democratic Party Convention in Anaheim. Elfman also stated a pro-vaccine stand while emphasizing the importance of parents’ rights in making medical decisions for their own children.
SB 277 faced massive opposition as it passed through the legislature, even dividing the strong Democrat majority.
Multiple bills cropped up in the legislature in the midst of a measles outbreak that began in Disneyland’s Anaheim theme park last December and ended early in 2015.
