TEL AVIV – In what is fast becoming policy, Lebanon once again banned Gal Gadot from theaters, this time for reprising her role as Wonder Woman in the new movie, Justice League.

The movie was barred by Lebanon’s Office of the Boycott of Israel, which is under the auspices of the country’s Ministry of Economy and Trade, over Gadot’s Israeli nationality.

Last summer, Lebanon led the way by being the first Arab country to ban Wonder Woman from the big screen due to Gadot’s starring role.

Jordan, Qatar, Algeria and Tunisia later followed suit, either barring the movie from festivals or altogether. A theater in Ramallah also decided to boycott Wonder Woman.

However, as Lebanese English news website The961.com states, the boycott office has been inconsistent in implementing the ban on Gadot’s movies, permitting 2016’s Batman vs. Superman as well as the Fast and the Furious franchise.

Gadot, who served in the IDF during the 2006 Lebanon war, has come under fire for her open support of Israel, in particular for a tweet during 2014’s conflict with Gaza in which she prayed for the safety of Israel’s citizens.

Last week, Breitbart Jerusalem reported that a Lebanese daily printed an image of Gal Gadot on its front page, mistakenly captioning her as an Israeli Mossad officer.
