No-Fly Zone over Part of L.A.–for 3 Months

On Thursday, the FAA temporarily banned flights below 2000 feet over the northwest San Fernando Valley. The no-fly zone was imposed because of a fear that flights could ignite a gas leak initially discovered in October over Porter Ranch.

The Naked Mile: Cross Country Team Banned from Meet after Nude Escapade

In September, all 28 members of the Rider University men’s cross country team were denied participation in a Rider-hosted invitational meet because university public safety officers discovered members of the team about to run naked on the school’s track two weeks earlier.

Stanford Band, Banned: No Road Trips Next Season

On Friday, Stanford University banned the Leland Stanford Junior University Marching Band (LSJUMB) from performing at any athletic events held away from the university for one year because of the band’s recent history of the use of alcohol and controlled substances as well as hazing.
