High School Student Takes Selfie with Human Cadaver

As President Obama recently learned that you should never take a selfie at a funeral for a Nobel Peace Prize winner, an Alabama high school senior learned it is best not to take one with a human cadaver.

On Monday while on a class field trip to the University of Alabama Birmingham’s biology department, an unidentified female student from Clements High School in Limestone County took a photo of herself smiling and holding up a thin white sheet to expose the cadaver. Unfortunately for her, another student took a photo catching her in the act and put it on Instagram.

From there, it made its way to her school’s authorities. Visitors and students are strictly forbidden from using any type of recording devices during the tour of the school’s anatomical donor program. Moreover, they are not permitted to remove coverings from donated bodies.

Karen Tucker, Limestone County School Board Director of Public Relations and Technology, told WHNT News 19, “We were notified via email this morning from a parent that this incident had occurred. We are speaking to the University of Alabama Birmingham, they are understandably upset with this incident and we want to preserve our relationship with the university.”

The teenager may be facing disciplinary actions and stiff penalties for her insensitive act. There is no word on whether the student has been suspended.
