On Friday’s broadcast of CSPAN’s “Washington Journal,” conservative commentator Michelle Malkin, author of the new book “Who Built That: Awe-Inspiring Stories of American Tinkerpreneurs,”offered her thoughts on the Republican of the 2016 presidential campaign.
She explained that she why she was hesitant to talk about candidates by name and explained what she sought out as most important in a candidate.
“I hesitate to answer that question because what will happen is they’ll be some isolated sound bite of a positive thing I said about a candidate and then all of a sudden, it turns into an endorsement,” Malkin said. “It’s always a tricky thing, particularly on the right side of the aisle where obviously I come from because there are so many people, particularly here in the Washington bubble who are so vested and they get so mad if you say something even remotely positive or remotely negative about another candidate.”
“I am on team conservative that’s the camp that I’m in,” she continued. “I would like to have the most conservative candidate possible. I’ve been very outspoken about many of the candidates that have absolutely failed that test.”
Malkin said she wasn’t a fan of either Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee, Marco Rubio or John Kaisch by name and added her positions on candidates would be based on their positions on some of her core issues including education, immigration and national security.
She did endorse one name that is not and does not appear
“I wish that Jeff Sessions would run for president,” Malkin added. “Because I would sign up in a heartbeat.”
