Cody Wilson is asking Americans to stand with him as over 20 states sue to stop him from posting 3-D files for guns and gun parts online.

Wilson owns Defense Distributed, which sued the U.S. State Department in 2015 for prohibiting online file share for 3-D guns. On July 10, Breitbart News reported that Wilson won his suit and, as a result, reached a settlement with the State Department.

As a result of that settlement Wilson can post 3-D gun print files online on August 1.

Numerous State Attorneys General are taking action to curtail Wilson’s ability to place gun files online.

Wilson tweeted:

On Sunday Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro sought a Temporary Restraining Order to hinder Wilson’s ability to post files online, but a judge rejected Shapiro’s arguments. That same day Wilson and the Second Amendment Foundation filed a preemptive suit against New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal and L.A. City Attorney Michael Feuer, claiming the alleged intents of both men portend a violation of Wilson’s First Amendment rights via “unconstitutional prior restraint.”

News Talk 870 describes Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson as “gleefully” preparing to add his name to the list of AGs suing Wilson. And ARS Technica quoted Ferguson speaking about online gun files, saying, “After almost 18 months I was skeptical that there was anything else that this administration would do that would truly shock me, but they have. Frankly, it is terrifying. … We think that it is important to put a stop to this right away and make it as difficult as humanly possible to access this information.”

Second Amendment Foundation founder and executive vice president Alan Gottlieb countered the type of arguments employed by Ferguson, saying, “You cannot exercise the right to keep and bear arms without being able to buy or make your own firearm.”
