Rush: Left Attempting to ‘Alinsky’ the South with Confederate Flag Attacks — US Flag Is Next

On his Tuesday show, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh offered his theory on what is motivating the sudden push to remove the Confederate flag from society, to which he did not say it was because of the backlash created by the mass killing in Charleston, SC last week.

Instead Limbaugh said it had to do with political motivations and an effort to marginalize the Republican electoral strength in the South.

“I’m not arguing to keep it – that’s not the point. We’re so beyond that,” he said. “The point is as with everything else the left does – what they tell you they’re irritated about is not where it ends. This effort to have the battle flag of northern Virginia removed is really an attempt to segregate and isolate the entire South and to Alinsky it, you know the ‘Rules for Radicals’ – you seek the target, you isolate it, you attack it, you humiliate it. This flag represents what the left believes is the last remaining Republican electoral stronghold in terms of presidential politics and that would be the South.”

“So this is an effort going far beyond the Confederate flag or the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia,” he continued. “This flag represents to the left a symbol of everything’s wrong – not just South Carolina, but North Carolina, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama – you name it. And that’s what the objective here really is. And that’s what the objective here really is. And that’s why these Republicans make these effort to appease, please and even if they think they’re doing the right thing it never is enough. It’s never genuine and it’s never accepted, or very rarely is it accepted.”

Later in show, Limbaugh predicted the left would not stop at the Confederate flag and said the American flag would be their next target.

Listen (Part 2):

“I have a prediction – just said it’s not going to stop with the Confederate flag because it’s not about the Confederate flag,” Limbaugh said. “It’s about destroying the South as a political force. It’s about isolating, targeting and identifying the South as Dylann Roof. Not Charleston, SC – the South. That’s what the leftist efforts on the Confederate flag.”

“The next flag that will come under assault and it will not be long is the American flag,” he added. “[I]t makes perfect sense. If you look at the timeline of the progression of events – the speed and rapidity of which the left is conducting this assault on all of these American traditions and institutions – if you don’t think the American flag is in their crosshairs down the road, you had better stop and reconsider. The America flag is what – the symbol of America. The left what – doesn’t like this country and never has and is getting angrier and angrier about it seemingly every day.”

He went on to speculate how the Republicans might react to that effort.

“And then what are Republicans going to do?” he said. “Who will be the first among them to say, ‘Yep we need a redesign’? ‘Yep, need to get in the 21st century?’ Just saying, just saying.”
