Cher Mocks Miley Cyrus' Body, Dance Moves, Oral Hygiene

Cher knows a thing or two about provocative attire.

The singer/actress routinely dressed in outrageous outfits in her younger years, be it a body stocking for the music video If I Could Turn Back Time to her wardrobe choices for several Oscar appearances.

Cher still gave a failing grade to Miley Cyrus for the young singer’s sexualized performance at last month’s VMAs telecast on MTV. Call it “deconstructive” criticism. Cher isn’t playing nice.

I’m not old-fashioned,” Cher tells USA TODAY in an interview to promote new album Closer to the Truth. “She could have come out naked, and if she’d just rocked the house, I would have said, ‘You go, girl.’ It just wasn’t done well. She can’t dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn’t great, one cheek was hanging out. And, chick, don’t stick out your tongue if it’s coated.

Cyrus defended her performance, in part, by saying critics are over-thinking her gyrations. Cher says Cyrus should have flexed some brain power before hitting the stage.

If you’re going to go that far, then think about it before you do it,” she says.
