Texas Congressman Michael McCaul, Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, charges that the refusal to mention terrorism in speeches at the Democratic National Convention is a “complete and utter failure of responsibility by Hillary Clinton, her party, and her hand picked surrogates.”

The House Homeland Security Chair added in a message to his supporters, “It represents a total misunderstanding of the greatest challenge our next president will face as Commander in Chief.”

On the first day of the Democratic National Convention, Democrats focused their sights on Donald Trump, climate change, and other issues. On Tuesday night, Bill Clinton gave a long and rambling speech, and he stayed away from issues that have been raised about the Clinton Foundation, reported Breitbart News. Instead, he gave a “long-winded recitation” of his wife’s resume, and boasted, “She put climate change at the center of our foreign policy.” The past Democratic president known for his philandering “brandished Hillary Clinton’s purported credentials as a champion of women.”

The mothers of Trayvon Martin, Sandra Bland, Eric Garner and others also spoke on Tuesday but as reported by Breitbart News, “a day after terrorism and law and order were barely referenced.” The Democrats did however show “a slickly produced video message [where] [Hillary] Clinton appears after glass-ceiling montage cracks.” As reported by Breitbart News, she quipped she could not believe “we just put the biggest crack in the glass ceiling yet.” Alicia Keys also pushed gun control and Meryl Streep predicted that Hillary Clinton will be the first woman president but not the last.

Singer Andra Day performed her Black Lives Matter inspired song “Rise Up” on Tuesday night. Her song came after the “Mothers of the Movement” appeared, mothers of children who were killed in police and other shootings, Jerome Hudson reported. Lena Dunham and America Ferrera gave a joint speech where they congratulated Hillary Clinton for standing up for her “fellow sexual assault survivors” in her home state of New York.

Breitbart Texas’ Logan Churchwell reported that National Border Patrol Union president Brandon Judd criticized Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for giving a DNC speaking slot to an illegal immigrant after she took pride in violating federal immigration laws.

Bill Clinton made a specific appeal to illegal aliens, and Muslims “who hate terror,” saying “If you’re a Muslim and you love freedom and hate terror, stay here and help us win,” reported Breitbart News and the New York Post.

Both Hillary Clinton and President Obama have continuously refused to mention “Islam” or even “radical Islam” when responding to Islamic terrorist attacks.
