Country music legend Willie Nelson was a guest on The View Tuesday, and he told Joy Behar he simply “[doesn’t] care” about Trump supporters who disagree.

After announcing that he would headline a benefit concert for Beto O’Rourke’s campaign against incumbent Senator Ted Cruz, Willie Nelson has been “getting a lot of flak.” However, the 85-year-old artist finds the whole thing humorous. “I love flak,” he said. “We’re not happy til they’re not happy.”

“You’re making headlines yourself with your politics,” co-host Joy Behar said of Nelson’s public support for O’Rourke. “People are shocked at that, that you would support a Democrat. Why? Why? Do they have some misunderstanding of you?”

“I guess so, because I’ve been supporting Democrats all my life,” Nelson laughed. “I haven’t hidden it that much.” It is true: Nelson has never made his politics secret. He has shown support for both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders and campaigned extensively for marijuana legalization.
