The Islamic State (ISIS) released a new propaganda video starring an 11-year-old “American” boy Wednesday, according to a report by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

In a press conference Wednesday, the U.S. State Department told reporters it could not verify the boy’s nationality and did not have any proof that the boy was American, as he identified himself in the video.

“My message to Trump, the puppet of the Jews, Allah has promised us victory and promised you defeat. This battle is not going to end in Raqqa or Mosul, it’s going to end in your lands. By the will of Allah, we will have victory, so get ready for the fighting has just begun,” the boy, identified as “Yusef” tells the camera.

Calling his reputed native country “America, [the] land of kufr [unbelief],” Yusef claims his mother brought him to live in Raqqa, Syria, the “capital” of the medieval fundamentalist Islamic pseudo-state two years ago and that his father was an American soldier who fought in Iraq.

Yusef is shown training for jihad with a scoped rifle. He condemns both the American bombing campaign in the region and the efforts by the Iraqi and Syrian militaries, as well as other armed groups, to defeat the Islamic State, which has waged a five-year campaign of horror across the Middle East and beyond.

“Do you think we’re going to leave? Do you think we will be finished?” he taunts in what MEMRI described as “American-accented English.”

The video, titled “The Fertile Nation 4,” is the latest in a series of propaganda efforts by ISIS to talk up the “Islamic paradise” they have created out of the ashes of war-torn Eastern Syria and Western Iraq. Earlier editions of series featured Chechen fighters and a man speaking in British-accented English who claimed to be a doctor.

While ISIS has used children in many propaganda videos before, this is the first one in which the child in the video claims American citizenship.

Media outreach has become even more important to the terror group as they were run out of the largest city they ever held, Mosul, Iraq, by Iraqi forces last month. As the group, known world round for its mass killings and strict interpretation of Islamic Sharia law, has lost ground on its Middle Eastern home turf, it appears to be lashing out in our West homelands as “Yusef” threatens. For example, ISIS took responsibility for last week’s coordinated terror attacks in Catalonia, Spain.
