Darrell Issa: How Much Would It Cost To Lock The Front Doors Of The White House?

During opening remarks of the House Oversight Committee, Chairman Darrell Issa questioned the recent security lapses of the Secret Service, reminding Americans of the enormous budget provided to the agency to protect the president.

Issa said that it was obvious that the “system broke down” after a fence jumper made it inside the White House on September 19 as well as when the Salahi’s snuck into a White House State Dinner in 2009. Issa also referred to the 2011 incident where Oscar Ortega-Hernandez shot the White House several times as well as reports of agents engaging in prostitution and getting drunk while serving overseas.
