Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the House Select Committee on Benghazi on Wednesday that she still blamed a YouTube video for the terror attack in Benghazi on Sep. 11, 2012 that killed four Americans.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) pressed Clinton on the discrepancy between her private assurances at the time that the video had nothing to do with the attack, and her public statements that the video was indeed responsible.

“Congressman, I believe to this day the video played a role,” Clinton said.

Clinton made the case that the video had sparked widespread demonstrations throughout the Middle East. She was supported by Democrats such as Rep. Elijah Cummings, who brought media footage of protests elsewhere.

She recalled, for example, the violent protests outside the U.S. embassy in Tunisia. However, those happened Sep. 14, three days after the Benghazi attacks.
