Ann Coulter is demanding Comedy Central release the unedited tape of the “Roast of Rob Lowe,” where she was a guest roaster. The event instead seemed to mostly target her.
“I really want the world to see the whole roast without the edits,” Coulter tells Howie Carr. She was booked on the roast to promote her new book In Trump We Trust.
“My main satisfaction is knowing the difficulty the Comedy Central editors are having editing me trying to make me look bad and everyone else look good,” she said.
The host of the Howie Carr Show asked Coulter, “Usually, they don’t ambush you like that. What happened here?”
“Nah, it’s very common,” Coulter said.
The author told Carr, “I would summarize it for you, but the words can’t be said.”
Using a series of alternatives, Coulter recreated what she heard: “Hunt, hunt, hunt, Hitler, KKK, hunt, hussy, hussy, Hitler, KKK, burning crosses, hunt, she hates Muslims, hunt, hunt, hussy, hussy, hussy–now, I have summarized the entire two hours I had to listen to.”
Coulter said after being the most frequent guest on HBO’s “Politically Incorrect” program, too many young and unknowns are told by their agents the way to make it big is to: “Go on TV and call Ann Coulter the c-word.”
The problem was that this time, there were 20 of them, she said.
Coulter’s own set was disrupted by a teleprompter operator, who jacked up her lines as she stood at the podium.
The mainstream media picked up on the Coulter-centrality of the event with shock and glee.

And so, Coulter’s presence in the room filled with a liberal-leaning Hollywood crowd shifted the focus of the material from Lowe — whose sex tape, legal issues with nannies, failed TV shows and feminine features were all fodder for jokes — to Coulter’s general awfulness.
“I’d like to welcome everyone to the Ann Coulter roast with Rob Lowe,” Coulter said, acknowledging her special attention.

On Saturday night, Comedy Central taped another one of its annual roasts, this time skewering Rob Lowe. As the roasts usually do, this one got pretty nasty. Nothing was off limits, not even 9/11 or Lowe’s sex tape he made in 1988 with a 16-year-old girl. And again, it was supposed to be a roast of actor Rob Lowe, but it was conservative political commentator Ann Coulter who drew most of the heat.
“Ann describes herself as a polemicist but most people call her a c—” said Pete Davidson of Saturday Night Live, before muttering “a racist c—” under his breath. Comedian Nikki Glaser called Coulter “a real-life supervillain,” and told her, “The only person you’ll ever make happy is the Mexicans that dig your grave.”
Variety also weighed in:
Rob Lowe is at the center of Comedy Central’s Roast this year, and at the taping on Saturday night, he got slammed: over his 1988 sex tape with a 16-year-old, his trend of being on so many cancelled TV shows and even his unbearable handsomeness.
But perhaps no one was burned worse than one of the actual roasters: Ann Coulter. In fact, the political commentator even addressed the amount of jokes leveled at her during her performance.
After Variety listed seven of the insults sent Coulter’s way, it added this one: “And perhaps the harshest, from Jimmy Carr: ‘Ann is one of the most repugnant, hateful, hatchet-face bitches alive. It’s not too late to change, Ann. You could kill yourself.'”
Coulter told Carr it was all part of the business of being Coulter.
“I don’t care–I am just telling you what happened–it was a bore until I spoke and I was fantastic.”
