Floyd Mayweather faces Marcos Maidana on Cinco de Mayo weekend in Las Vegas. A few weeks ago, if a TMZ report can be believed, the undefeated welterweight participated in an unsanctioned handicap match that witnessed two of his employees suffer broken bones and subsequent hospitalization. The fight threatens to further tarnish the fighter’s record–and not the perfect one at BoxRec.com.
“Money” Mayweather, as his nickname suggests, values material items. He’s known to tweet out winning receipts on casino bets and post videos on YouTube of himself flaunting his chains, rings, and watches. So when jewelry went missing at his residence, Mayweather losing it seems about as easy to believe as Marcos Maidana losing on May 3.
TMZ claims the undefeated boxer lured two employees he suspected of stealing the missing jewelry to an isolated location. Mayweather, along with numerous henchmen, allegedly appeared and laid down a vicious beating on the two men. The story claims that the thugs used clubs and other weapons to brutalize the suspected thieves. The two victims emerged from the ordeal with broken arms and legs, extended hospital stays, and a flirtation with the Grim Reaper. TMZ’s source explained, “It was some Breaking Bad $#!.”
The victims seek to hire lawyers. They might think about hiring a bodyguard, too. Zab Judah may be eager and available.
Mayweather, no stranger to jail or lawsuits, could face both as a result of the alleged savage beatdown. The Marquess of Queensberry does not approve.
