Make-Believe Media Uses Tragedy To Attack Private Citizens

Barely hours after the tragic massacre in Arizona, the Make-Believe Media has wasted no time launching a convulsive smear attack against its traditional targets — gun rights advocates, Tea Partiers, “birthers,” anti-illegal immigration advocates, and most personally against Sarah Palin.

Basically – the MBM is cynically scapegoating conservatives for motivating this crime or, more insidiously, for “fostering an environment” of violence. For example, Yahoo News highlights how Giffords drew the ire of conservatives last year, especially from politicians like Sarah Palin over her support of the health care bill.

Her Tucson office was vandalized a few hours after the House voted to approve the health care law in March, with someone either kicking or shooting out a glass door and window. In an interview after the vandalism, Giffords referred to the animosity against her by conservatives. Palin listed Giffords’ seat as one of the top “targets” in the midterm elections because of the lawmakers’ support for the health care law.

“For example, we’re on Sarah Palin’s targeted list, but the thing is, that the way that she has it depicted has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district. When people do that, they have to realize that there are consequences to that action,” Giffords said in an interview with MSNBC. [my emphasis]

Never mind the 22 year old may be pyschotic or that his YouTube posting is a rambling, incoherent rant of a self-proclaimed terrorist nutjob worthy of sporting a tinfoil hat.

The fault will lay with Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and anyone opposing illegal immigration, Obamacare, gay marriage or gun control.

We can all predict the leftwing Talking Points that the Make-Believe Media will spew in the upcoming days and weeks — conservatives’ “words” are dangerous, and for too long they’ve been unchallenged and this horrific tragedy is the natural consequence.

After laying the foundation of the “problem,” the Left will then demand a “solution” (read censorship ) — doubtless a legislative and/or regulatory assault on violent words or their speakers, perhaps reviving the Fairness Doctrine, but more likely much more aggressive legislation/regulation. If the Left can figuratively mount Sarah Palin’s political head on its PC wall, they doubtless feel the cost of the First Amendment will be worth it.
