Sunday, on CNN’s “State of the Union” when questioned by host Candy Crowley about Attorney General Eric Holder’s claiming both he and President Obama have dealt with unprecedented political opposition due to racism, DCCC Chairman Rep. Steve Israel(D-NY) responded by saying it wasn’t all Republicans, but just a significant amount of them.

CROWLEY: Do you think your Republican colleagues are racist?
ISRAEL: Not all of them, no. Of course not. But to a significant extent, the Republican base does have elements that are animated by racism.
