[Side note: the album this song is from, the critically lauded To Pimp a Butterfly, ends with a faux interview with Tupac Shakur, wherein Kendrick Lamar cuts his own voice into an unearthed recording of the late rapper, predicting more violent riots in the wake of Ferguson, as opposed to the Los Angeles riots:
Kendrick: I can truly tell you that there’s nothing but turmoil goin’ on so I wanted to ask you what you think is the future for me and my generation today?
Tupac: I think that niggas is tired of grabbin’ shit out the stores and next time it’s a riot there’s gonna be, like, uh, bloodshed for real. I don’t think America know that. I think American think we was just playing and it’s gonna be some more playing but it ain’t gonna be no playing. It’s gonna be murder, you know what I’m saying, it’s gonna be like Nat Turner, 1831, up in this muthafucka. You know what I’m saying, it’s gonna happen.]

10:15 PM: Breitbart’s Warner Todd Huston reports that Chicago Police are wary that the nightly protests could be used to facilitate gang activity:
Even as most of the protests have been peaceful thus far, with few arrests, the CPD is worried that the marches may act as a screen for gang activity.
According to the paper, police supervisors were warning street officers to be on the lookout. “The information indicates that gang members may utilize ambush-style tactics in order to shoot police officers in retaliation to recently publicized events,” the document reads.

9:45 PM: Protesters vow to shut down Black Friday in Chicago.
Activist Mark Carter called on people to “rise up” and shut down the Magnificent Mile shopping area on Black Friday. He said protesters also planned to target the Board of Trade and other landmarks in the coming days.
Carter and others want the Department of Justice to investigate the Chicago Police Department and its history of covering up bad behavior.
The Urban League of Chicago joined in the call for a federal investigation, alleging a pattern of “discriminatory harassment” against black people.

9:22 PM: The Chicago Tribune reports on four new videos released from the night of the fatal shooting:
Only one of the five police dashboard camera videos that the Emanuel administration did release shows the shooting of McDonald, the same video the mayor was forced to release under an order by a Cook County judge.
The other DVDs released by the city show:
•A video of Van Dyke’s squad car following McDonald through the lawn of a Burger King restaurant and pulling up alongside him as he walked down the center of Pulaski.
•Another video of a squad car arriving at the shooting scene moments after McDonald crumpled to the ground. The video shows the teen appear to move slightly in the street with streams of blood trailing from his body.
•Two other videos from a pair of other police vehicles that drove up near the incident but appeared to be quickly dispatched to help set up a perimeter and control traffic.
The absence of any recorded discussions from officers in any of the five vehicles for which videos were released makes it impossible to discern what the officers might have discussed in their cars on the runup to the shooting of McDonald. In the charging papers against Van Dyke, prosecutors paraphrased radio traffic from four different cars responding to the incident.
9:17 PM: President Obama adds fuel to the fire with comments on the video of the shooting. Charlie Spiering reports:
“Like many Americans, I was deeply disturbed by the footage of the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald,” he wrote on his personal Facebook page this evening.
