Dems Double Down on Climate Lunacy

Climate denialism is the new “Reds under the Beds.”

Or so a cabal of the most desperate and shameless Democrat senators has decided, among them the inevitable Barbara Boxer, Ed Markey and the egregious Sheldon Whitehouse.

Under the hashtag #WebOfDenial, they are wasting hours of Senate floor time warning America that she is in the grip of a terrible new threat in which evil denialists (TM) funded – natch – by the even more evil Koch Brothers have been conspiring to block action on “climate change” by disseminating lies through right-wing think tanks like the Heartland Institute and the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

Already the campaign has had some success.

In the pages of the Guardian, one commentator has been moved to threaten climate denialists with physical violence because, apparently, “the evil is too entrenched.”

It also may be responsible for inspiring a string of outraged tweets from climate-concerned celebrities, among them none other than Luke Skywalker.

As well as observations from self-claimed scientific experts including this one:

And snarky expostulations from actual climate ‘scientists’ like this man who has an actual job teaching actual climate ‘science’ at Texas A&M.

Not everyone is likely to be quite so impressed by this latest outburst of Dem bluster, least of all those who know anything about what climate has actually been doing in the last few years. In a nutshell, there has been no global warming since 1998 – a simple fact which calls into question the entire basis of the climate change/carbon dioxide scare narrative.

This, of course, is the main difference between the “scare” promoted by Joe McCarthy in the 1950s and the one being talked up by all those Dem senators.

McCarthy, unpleasant though he may have been, was absolutely right. From Hollywood to DC, America really was riddled with Communist agents, sympathisers and fellow travellers.

Whitehouse, unpleasant as he also is, couldn’t be more wrong. There is no evidence whatsoever to support his claims of a “denialist” conspiracy. It’s why, for example, the Virgin Islands Attorney General has had hastily to withdraw his vexatious lawsuit alleging that Exxon conspired to hide the truth about global warming.

The truth about global warming is that it just ain’t happening. And for Al Gore, Tom Steyer and other beneficiaries of the $1.5 trillion climate industry, this is a truth whose inconvenience no quantity of DC bloviating will ever manage to conceal.
