US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday insisted that Asian nations have “a responsibility” to lower tensions in their region, including surrounding the Korean peninsula.
Clinton opened three-way talks with South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Sung-Hwan and her Japanese counterpart Koichiro Gemba saying they would discuss further steps towards denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
“We will also discuss how every nation in the region has a responsibility to work to resolve disputes peacefully, lower tensions, promote regional security and stability,” she added.
