A flash fire injured four people during construction work at the US State Department in Washington Saturday, leaving at least one in “life-threatening condition,” CNN said, citing firefighters.
Two others were seriously injured and transferred to the hospital, while the fourth hurt his knee after falling from a ladder, the US news channel reported on its website.
The fire broke out in ductwork as workers were making repairs, the firefighters said.
The workers were able to extinguish the flames before the firemen arrived.
Few agency employees were in the building during the US Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
