David Cameron will on Wednesday make a statement to the House of Commons after receiving a major review into the February 1989 murder of Belfast solicitor Pat Finucane.
Loyalist gunmen used sledgehammers to break down the door of the 38-year-old Catholic father-of-three’s house in north Belfast before shooting him dead.
His widow Geraldine has fought a long campaign for a full public inquiry, regardless of the outcome of Wednesday’s 500-page review.
The report’s author, lawyer Desmond de Silva, has already revealed that it will include previously highly-classified documents.
Cameron has apologised to Finucane’s family after accepting that collusion took place, but his widow has said that the report falls short of their demands for a full inquiry.
