NEW YORK, June 28 (UPI) — Diane Kruger says meeting longtime love Joshua Jackson changed her life.

The 39-year-old German actress revealed how the 38-year-old American actor helped change her perspective while discussing her relationship with fame in the August issue of Town & Country magazine.

“I had become arrogant,” Kruger admitted. “I had been a model, I spoke three languages, I had a career. I felt I had figured it all out. And then I realized that I was living this very privileged life in my own bubble that I created.”

“Meeting someone like my partner, who has a very different perspective, who likes to travel in a different way and be open to various experiences, was so important,” she said of Jackson. “I was 30 years old and I was already bored of fancy hotels.”

Kruger and Jackson started dating in 2006 and share residences in New York, Los Angeles and Paris. The actress previously told The Edit she can envision herself starting a family and living out her days in the City of Lights.

“I feel very European and I think that I’m going to grow old in Paris,” she said. “I have this fantasy of raising my kids there one day. I just can’t imagine living my life sipping cocktails at the Chateau Marmont [in Los Angeles], you know?”

Kruger will next star with Bryan Cranston in The Infiltrator, which opens July 16. Jackson, meanwhile, plays Cole Lockhart on The Affair, which will return for a third season Nov. 20 on Showtime.
