BOSTON (AP) — Opponents of bringing the 2024 Summer Games to Boston say the latest version of the plans still fail to guarantee taxpayers won’t foot the bill for cost overruns or revenue shortfalls.

Chris Dempsey, a co-chairman of the No Boston Olympics group, said Monday that more details are still lacking on the insurance plan that organizers promise will protect taxpayer interests.

Earlier Monday, the private group pushing for the games unveiled a revised, $4.6 billion plan it says will create thousands of jobs and housing units and expand the tax base.

Boston 2024 organizers discussed an insurance package that includes policies covering individual venue projects as well an umbrella policy.

Bid chairman Steve Pagliuca, a co-owner of the Boston Celtics, promises more details are forthcoming on the insurance coverage.
