Instability in Arab region a challenge to international peace, security, says Al Jarwan


WAM MARSEILLE, 22nd January, 2014 (WAM)–Ahmed Mohammed Al Jarwan, Speaker of the Arab Parliament said the recent tension, violence and instability in the region pose challenge to the international peace and security, and would have negative repercussions on the countries in the region and neighbours as well.




Al Jarwan made the remark in a speech, read on his behalf by Samia Hassan Sayed, First Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament, in the 8th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean in Marseille, France.




He added that the Arab Parliament, being a representative of the Arab peoples, takes interest to tackle the problems to avoid their repercussions without interference in internal affairs of others.




The meetings will discuss the Syrian crisis, the Middle East Peace process, democratic reforms in the South of Mediterranean, economic and trade relations, challenges of immigration, cultural dialogue, political and security cooperation, environment and climate change and unemployment.
