White House Slams Israel As 'Counterproductive'

White House spokesman Jay Carney told the press pool today that Israel’s move to allow for new settlements in the West Bank was “counterproductive” to peace talks between Israel and Palestine. Israel made this announcement in response to Palestine forcing a vote in the UN to grant them observer status as a state.
