BEAUMONT, Tx — An 18-year-old man has been arrested for admittedly beating his girlfriend’s 3-year-old son while potty training him. In late May, the toddler was left unattended for nearly an hour until wandering to a neighbor’s house. That’s when the neighbor noticed bruises to the child’s chest, abdomen, and lower back.
Police were called to the home of the child where they interviewed the mother and her boyfriend, Dominique Keegan. The officer working the case said that Keegan admitted to beating the child after becoming frustrated during potty training.
Keegan remains in jail and could face up to 2 years if convicted.
