Breitbart Texas traveled to the Mexican States of Tamaulipas and Coahuila to recruit citizen journalists willing to risk their lives and expose the cartels silencing their communities.  The writers would face certain death at the hands of the various cartels that operate in those areas including the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas if a pseudonym were not used. Breitbart Texas’ Cartel Chronicles are published in both English and in their original Spanish. This article was written by Coahuila’s “JM Martinez” and Breitbart’s Ildefonso Ortiz.

PIEDRAS NEGRAS, Coahuila — A man who was walking home in this border city was robbed and shot by two hooded gunmen who have managed to avoid capture. This still unsolved crime is just one more of the violence acts that continue to take place in this city despite the claims made by public officials that the region is safe.

The robbery and attempted murder took place this week just hours after as Breitbart Texas reported, two hooded gunmen executed another man inside of his house and in front of his wife. Sources consulted by Breitbart Texas stated that in this city there have been other violent crimes; however, they have either not been reported or authorities have minimized them claiming that they were in fact police operations.

The gunshot victim has been identified as 20-year-old Daniel Alejandro Rodriguez Rivas. According to case information obtained by Breitbart Texas, Rodriguez was listening to music on his earphones while walking home and did not notice the two hooded gunmen approach.

When Rodriguez stopped and turned around he was shot point blank in the chest. After being shot, the victim was able to run way and flag down a taxi cab in order to get medical help. The cab driver initially took Rodriguez to a local clinic. Once doctors checked him out they transferred him to a larger hospital better equipped for that type of trauma.

Available medical information revealed that the gunshot that Rodriguez took in the chest perforated his lung. He is listed in serious condition. Authorities have not been able to identify the gunmen behind the robbery and attempted murder since Rodriguez claimed in his statements that he saw two men but that their faces were obscured with the hoods and he never saw their faces.
