South Park Finale Derides Cosby, Cops and Iggy Azalea’s Butt

South Park‘s Wednesday season finale took on some of 2014’s most serious subjects, and in its usual fashion, the show stoked the fires of controversy.

From Bill Cosby, to Iggy Azalea’s backside, to the deaths of young black men at the hands of police officers, the episode had no boundaries.

The season climax, titled #HappyHolograms, featured characters mindlessly tweeting to demonstrate a disconnect between children and their elders.

Greedy Hollywood executives took advantage of the age gap and used social media to break television ratings records.

Assisted by the holograms of dead celebrities such as Tupac, Kurt Cobain, Elvis, and Michael Jackson as Peter Pan, the school children thwarted Hollywood’s agenda and restored order to their ficticious small town.

In the meantime, the audience saw cartoon versions of Bill Cosby and Taylor Swift sharing an intimate drink, as well as Michael Jackson’s hologram giving life lessons, after performing Peter Pan Live

At one point in the episode, South Park police officers were notified that a black man was in the police station, at which the officers laughed, as if the news was the setup for a joke.

Then they got serious, referencing Eric Garner and the events of Ferguson, Missouri.

“Did you choke him?” asked Sgt. Yates. “Did you shoot him?”

The season wrapped up with the town’s youngest members putting down their technology and uniting to restore holiday traditions.
