What Do Jihadists Dream About When Asleep? Canadian Intelligence Service Finds Out

No, apparently its not those 72 virgins they are promised.

Dreaming about….what?!

According to a secret report just released under Canada’s equivalent of the Freedom of Information Act titled “The Role of Dreams In the Justification of Jihad,” the Canadian Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS) found a strong connect between what jihadists dreamed about and what they eventually did. “Dreams provide inspirational component of the world of the jihadist,” reads the report. “Jihadists receive divine guidance of future events and see the legitimacy of their actions in their dreams.” Infamous terrorists like Richard Reid and Zacarias Moussaoui both reportedly dreamt about the jihad acts they were about to carry out.

“Dream interpretation is closely tied to religious belief in Islam,” says the report. “Islamist extremists often report having dreams about the Prophet Muhammad or fellow mujahedin. Dreams about religious figures can inspire extremists to act.”
