March 16 (UPI) — Several movies honored at the 98th Academy Awards broke records and there were also many Oscars firsts.

Michael B. Jordan, who portrayed Smoke and Stack in the horror feature Sinners, won the Oscar for Best Actor, marking the first time an actor was feted for their portrayal of twins.

“God is good,” Jordan, 39, said as he accepted the award.

Sinners saw several firsts over the course of the evening.

The feature also won for Best Cinematography, marking the first time a woman and woman of color — Autumn Durald Arakapaw — earned the distinction.

In total, Sinners was nominated a record-breaking 16 times, and scored such accolades as Best Score and Best Original Screenplay.

The film also contributed to a record-tying night for Warner Bros.

In total, the studio’s films earned 11 Oscars.

MGM, Paramount and New Line previously earned 11 awards.

The 98th Academy Awards also saw Jessie Buckley win the Best Actress Oscar, becoming the first Irish woman to do so.

KPop Demon Hunters won the award for Best Animated Feature, while its hit song “Golden” became the first K-pop song to win the Best Original Song distinction.

Sean Penn’s Oscar for Best Supporting Actor (One Battle After Another) tied the actor with Meryl Streep, Daniel Day-Lewis, Frances McDormand, Walter Brennan and Jack Nicholson, who have all earned three Oscars across their careers.

Only Katharine Hepburn scored more (4).

Penn has previously been feted for his work in Mystic River and Milk.

The show also marked the seventh time in Academy Awards history that two films tied for an Oscar.

The Singers and Two People Exchanging Saliva ultimately tied in the bid for Best Live Action Short Film.
