ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (AP) — Bad weather at least allowed Tiger Woods to get to the weekend at the British Open. Bad golf sent him home early from his second straight major.

Woods looked tired walking up the 18th hole at St. Andrews, where he has twice claimed the claret jug. This time he three-putted from just below the green for par to close his worst 36-hole performance in the British Open.

With only three birdies over two days, he shot a 75 when the second round finally ended and missed the cut by seven shots.

It was the first time he missed the cut at the U.S. Open and British Open in the same season. Woods now has failed to make the cut in three of the last four majors.
