Politico: Repub Verbal Threat Bigger Story Than Dem Physical Assault

In just 15 hours, Politico has already slammed Rep. Michael Grimm (R-NY) with 16 stories headlining his verbal threat against a reporter after President Obama’s State of the Union speech. By comparison, this is already three more stories (according to Google’s advance search) than Politico published during the entire episode surrounding former Rep. Bob Etheridge’s (D-NC) physical assault on student journalists.

There is little doubt that on top of the 15 stories already published today about Grimm, Politico will publish many more in the coming days.

Last week, Breitbart News reported that Politico had only published four stories about the scandal surrounding Texas gubernatorial candidate and Democrat rising star Wendy Davis’s biography fabrications, as compared to 50+ Politico stories about a stupid comment made by a Republican Senate candidate about rape.

A verbal threat made by a Republican gets more coverage than an actual physical assault made by a Democrat.

A dumb statement made by a local politician is turned into a national feeding-frenzy, while biography falsehoods made by a national Democrat figure earns four stories — two of them in defense of the Democrat.

This is the difference between covering a story and activism.

Politico continues to present itself as an objective, unbiased news outlet.

Note: Exposing Politico’s bias should not be interpreted as a defense of Grimm’s appalling behavior.
