Obama Pushes For 'Boots on the Ground' in Baltics

President Barack Obama expressed his support for a bolstered US military presence to defend NATO allies, including “American boots on the ground” in several Baltic nations during a speech in Tallinn, Estonia on Wednesday.

“The United States is working to bolster the security of our NATO allies and further increase America’s military presence in Europe … here in the Baltics, it would mean positioning more American equipment so it’s ready, if needed. It would mean more training and exercises between our militaries, and it would mean more US forces, including American boots on the ground, continuously rotating through Estonia and Latvia and Lithuania,” he said.
