Hannity: Trump Entry into 2016 Field ‘Might Be the Shot of Adrenaline That Every Republican Needs’

During the opening of his Tuesday radio show, conservative talker and Fox News host Sean Hannity reacted to real estate mogul Donald Trump’s entry into the 2016 presidential race by indicating that Trump is injecting some excitement into the contest.

“I am finally jazzed over this election,” Hannity said. “And Donald Trump getting in today – it might be the shot of adrenalin that every Republican needs because finally somebody is just laying it on the line and is willing to fight for the country and fight for their beliefs and they’re not being shy and they’re not being politically correct and they’re not being timid and they’re not being weak and they have a very specific agenda and that’s good.”

Hannity made it clear he wasn’t supporting Trump, but added that the sentiments expressed Trump during his announcement reflect his in many cases.

“Don’t misinterpret this that I’m supporting Trump – I just like the energy of what Trump is doing,” he added. “And I think this is all positive because I’m listening to his speech today and I’m tired of America being in serious trouble. How many times have I said we’re at a tipping point in this country? How many times have I said conservative solutions work? How many times have I said, ‘Build the damn border fence?’ How many times have they not done?”
