Van Jones: Trump Sounded Like the ‘Bankrupter-in-Chief’

Tuesday night, in reacting to President Donald Trump’s address to joint session of Congress, former Obama administration green jobs czar and network contributor Van Jones declared Trump to be “the bankrupter-in-chief” based on his policy proposal to increase defense and domestic programs while proposing to cut taxes.

Jones said, “Speaking of the defense budget, I think everybody is letting that go like it makes sense what he’s talking about. I don’t think it does. I don’t think a 10 percent increase in the defense budget that you don’t pay for in any obvious way. First of all, he sounded like bankrupter-in-chief. If you add all he’s talking about, he wants to spend more on defense, some more the domestic programs and not cut taxes, so he becomes the bankrupter-in-chief.”
