Over $200,000 Donated to Zimmerman Legal Defense Fund

Zimmerman’s attorney, Mark O’Mara, dutifully reported to CNN’s Anderson Cooper that there had been two smaller accounts, one totaling $700, and the other totaling $2,000 – but Zimmerman had forgotten his Paypal account. When O’Mara checked that, it contained between $200,000 and $204,000.

O’Mara admitted that the bond amount for bail might have been raised had that information been public; he stated that the court would be notified. None of that money was used for Zimmerman’s release.

According to O’Mara, legal expenses could run up to $1 million for the case.
