Vandals Also Defaced Sign Next to Toppled 10 Commandments Statue

Peggy Nienaber, Chief of Program for Faith and Action, told Breitbart News that she was notified this past Saturday evening that her organization’s 10 Commandments monument which was put up several years ago had been vandalized and knocked over by someone.

Nienaber called the Metropolitan Police Department who sent uniformed officers out to the scene to determine what happened. She met them there about a half hour later.

Nienaber told Breitbart News that she told the police officers on scene, “If you can lift the tablet back into place, I won’t file a police report.” It weighs at least 850 pounds, she said.

The officer could not lift it back into place.

There is a Faith and Action sign to the left of the tablet in a raised garden that had a “For Rent” sign with an unknown phone number placed in front of it by the vandals as well, according to Nienaber. She said, to her knowledge, the police did not take fingerprints off the “For Rent” sign the vandals allegedly left.
