17-Year-Old Daughter Retrieves Family Gun, Opens Fire to Save Mother's Life

On Friday, a home invader stormed into a Vicksburg, Mississippi house, tied up a daughter and her mother — but the daughter was able to get her hands untied, retrieve a gun, and open fire on the home invader.

According to WLBT, Candy Strange says she and her daughter were still asleep when the invader entered the house around 5:20 a.m. He attacked them both, then tied them up.

The suspect then rummaged around, grabbed money, and left. Once he was gone, Strange and her daughter were able to untie themselves.

Strange then tried to close and secure the front door while her daughter went to get the gun. But the home invader returned and shot at the mother. The mother fled to another part of the home with the invader in hot pursuit. That is when the armed daughter caught up with the suspect and began shooting.

When the daughter entered the room with a gun, her mother shouted, “Shoot him!”

The suspect reportedly fled the scene under fire.
