Members of the pop band TLC are not pleased with Rihanna’s latest fashion stunt.
Earlier this week, Rihanna stunned a gathering at the CFDA Awards by wearing a dress that left virtually nothing to the imagination.
Now, TLC’s Tionne “T-Boz’ Watkins and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas are scolding their peer for pushing sex over art. The TLC members told Australia’s Chanel 7 audience that Rihanna made a poor sartorial choice.
Every time I see you, you don’t have to be naked,” said T-Boz of Rihanna, who stepped out in asee-through Adam Selman dress at Monday’s CFDA Awards before receiving her Fashion Icon Award.
“It’s easy to sell sex,” said the duo, with T-Boz adding, “It’s hard for us to say anything because any time we do, they say ‘Oh TLC must be jealous,’ but I call a spade a spade.”
Added Chilli: “We became the biggest girl selling group of all time with our clothes on and that says a lot.
Rihanna quickly responded in true social media fashion. She posted a topless photograph of TLC as her Twitter background. That wasn’t all. She sent out this tweet meant to demean her fellow pop stars.
