Enough Is Enough! Owner Shuts Down SF Restaurant for Day over Picky Customers: 'We Don't Give a Sh*t About Gluten Free'

Sometimes, enough is just enough.

SO, an Asian fusion restaurant in San Francisco, closed down early on Thursday evening and lashed out at picky customers who reportedly demanded gluten-free cuisine and may have complained about the restaurant’s use of MSG. The owner put up a window sign saying his restaurant didn’t “give a sh*t’ about gluten-free food.

According to SF Eater, “Small Chinese restaurant SO, located across from the SOMA Trader Joe’s complex, has earned a strong reputation for its killer wings, noodles, and dumplings (it’s a sister spot to Sunutation for its killer wings, noodles, and dumplings”:

But its chef-owner apparently hit a wall last night, closing up shop early and leaving the sign above in the restaurant’s window. “We are closed because of you (customers), So…yes we use MSG, we don’t believe in organic food, and we don’t give a shit about gluten free.”

Employees said the straws that broke the camel’s back were “back-to-back incidents with rude customers: one party refused to pay their bill after deeming the food ‘too spicy,’ while another cursed at the owner.”

After those incidents, the owner shut down the restaurant and put up the sign. And since the owner is also the chef, the employees could not run the restaurant without the owner. But an employee told SF Eater that the owner has cooled down, and SO restaurant will open on Friday.
