IRS Hearing: 'No Factual Evidence' Targeting Was 'Politically Motivated' From WH

Acting IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel and Treasury Inspector General J. Russell George told Congress today that there is no “evidence” targeting of conservative groups was based on ideological motivations. George explained that his audit of the IRS processes in this matter did not focus on reasoning for the targeting practices but he definitively stated that the White House was not involved based on current evidence.
